Jason Stackhouse is young, dumb and full of fun. In a Death Ray interview – Death Ray is a British Sci-Fi magazine – Ryan Kwanten says that we all know someone like Jason. You know: someone who looks before he leaps, someone who always blows his load first, but it’s okay because he’s got a second load, and a third, and a fourth.
We’ve all been a Jason Stackhouse. Who hasn’t suspended impulse control and gratification delay? Who hasn’t slept with wrong someone, whether that someone be too hot, too ugly, too crazy, too sleazy? Ever turned off your brain for a minute or a week, and not benefit? You know: walk into a bar you shouldn’t and spend money you shouldn’t. End up patting yourself on the back for doing what your mom, if she’s any kind of mom, warned you not to. That’s the Jason in us, and by the end of the second episode, while we’re sitting on that couch Jason becomes our vicarious id. A long time ago we adults pumped the brakes, started practicing life with mature frontal lobes. Jason has no brake pedal, and we praise him for it.
